Privacy policy

Last updated 27 September 2026

Short version: your videos never leave your device, we only see your Discord name and picture, and we don't use ads or tracking. Kay x Kaz is responsible for the data described here — contact us at kayxkazsupport@gmail.com.

Your videos

Patching happens inside your browser, on your own device. The videos you patch are never uploaded to our servers, and we never see them.

What we collect

  • Your Discord account — your user ID, name and profile picture, from signing in with Discord. We don't get your email, messages or friends list. Signing in also adds you to our Discord server, and we check you're still in it before giving you free patches.
  • How you use the service — which plan or licence key your account has, how many free patches you've used this month, a random ID for your device, a code worked out from your browser itself (screen size, timezone and how your graphics draw one line of text), and a salted one-way code made from your IP address. We don't store your IP address or the browser details themselves, only those codes, and only to tell browsers and connections apart — so one person can't take the free patches over and over with different accounts.
  • A record of each patch — which Discord account made it, when, and how big the original file was. Never the video itself. It lets us trace a patched file that gets shared or resold back to the account that made it.
  • Promoters — if you apply to promote us: your TikTok username, the follower, like and video counts shown on your public profile, and any note you add. If you're a promoter: the links to the videos you submit, and what TikTok shows publicly about them — the caption, who posted it and whether it's still up. Each promoter also has their own link to the site; if you arrive through one and sign in for the first time, we note whose link it was, and later whether you became a customer. The promoter sees only those totals, never who you are.
  • Your TikTok, if you add it — your username, and for your newest public videos: the link, caption, likes, views and thumbnail, and whether it was made with the Upload Method. We never download your whole video. It's how we find edits to repost. When we repost one, our Discord bot tells you in a DM, and the most-viewed edit each week is shared in our Discord server, video included, with your TikTok username and a mention of your Discord account. Edits you post also count towards the total views shown on our home page, which is only ever a total. If you post edits made with the method, our bot gives you the Verified Editor role in our Discord, then 10K Club or 100K Club as your best one gets those views, and when one passes 10K, 100K or 1M views we shout it out in our Discord. You can change or remove your TikTok any time, from the same place you added it.
  • Posts you check — when you paste a TikTok link into "Did it keep its quality?", we look the post up on TikTok to answer, and remember the answer for a few minutes so a second check is instant. We don't save it.
  • Your review — if you leave one: your stars, your words, the TikTok link you add, and your Discord name and picture, which are shown with it on the site. You can change or remove it any time on your page, and it's gone from the site straight away.
  • Purchases — from our payment provider: the email address you gave at checkout, your plan, what you paid and your subscription status. We never see your card details.
  • Older licence keys — for keys bought through our previous store, the key, the email used to buy it and the Discord account it's linked to.
  • Support — what you send us in Discord tickets or by email.

We also count how many videos are patched each day, without linking that count to anyone.

Why we use it

  • to give you the service and the plan you paid for (our contract with you);
  • to prevent account sharing, abuse, resold patches and fraud, and to check that promoters keep to their deal (our legitimate interest in keeping the service fair);
  • to keep accounting records the law requires (legal obligation).

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Cookies

We only use cookies the site needs to work: one that keeps you signed in (30 days), one for your current session, one with your device ID, and short-lived ones that protect the Discord sign-in. If you open a promoter's link, one more holds the name of that link for up to 30 days, until you sign in. Your browser also stores a local count of your patches and your sound settings. No analytics, ads or tracking pixels.

Who else handles it

  • Discord — sign-in and our community server.
  • Payhip — our checkout, and the payment providers it uses (such as PayPal and Stripe). They process payments under their own privacy policies; we never see your card details.
  • Google — our server (Google Cloud) and the system that keeps licence-key records.
  • Cloudflare — runs our domain's DNS.

Some of these companies are based in the United States. They protect data sent there with the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

Account and usage data is kept while you use the service and deleted within 12 months of your last visit. Purchase records are kept for 5 years, as Danish bookkeeping law requires. Server backups are replaced within 14 days.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct, delete or stop using it, by emailing kayxkazsupport@gmail.com. Payment data can also be deleted by asking Payhip. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) or the authority where you live.

Children

The service isn't for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and we'll announce important changes in our Discord.
